Hank jumped out of his harness and through a small hole in between a mesh wall and the door of the vehicle at a gas station in Defuniak Springs Florida. I was making my way across the country and this was the last leg; I initially didn't plan on stopping at all, however I had to take a quick break to ensure the cats were safely contained in the back seat as Hank had gotten past the net to the front seats.
The tracking dogs came by again to ensure they were picking up his scent properly and to check other areas of sightings. However upon checking the area by the 76 his scent was present and had moved from where he was originally tracked on the 8th of May. His scent crossed 331 and ended behind McDonalds.
The tracking dogs came ot as the last track in December were inconclusive and I have had no signs of him in the area he was tracked to. This time they were able to find new scent in the area he was originally lost. It's most likely he got into a car and got out at the stop light! We believe he is back in this area now.
The tracking dogs came back and were successful on picking up Hank's scent further down the road at the stop sign. He then walked North along Country Highway 280 East. He went in and out of the yards, we believe he is still in the area. I have talked with some of the locals in the immediate area and they are still watching for him.
We hired some tracking dogs to follow Hank's scent. They were successful in picking the scent up right away and followed it he eventually made his way back to the gas station and then down along 280B, likely in/hidden under a car. His scent stopped just past the second culvert. We believe he has been picked up by someone or hid under a car and was transported South East. The tracking dogs did not alert to his death in the are due to predators or a vehicle.
This is the approximate location of the second culvert, which is where the scent stopped and we believe the vehicle sped up.
He jumped out at this address and ran into the woods to the East of the gas station at 4:58 AM.
